Tonelería Murua inaugurates Europe’s most modern barrel factory

Murua is a centennial company founded in La Rioja in 1890 and is currently managed by Elena Ceca, who is the fourth generation of a barrel producing family.

A few months ago, they opened Europe’s most modern barrel factory in order to consolidate their leadership in terms of both quality and tradition. In their new facilities, Murua will produce yearly 25000 oak barrels that will be sent to 50 winery regions worldwide.

The new industrial building has a useful space of 5700m2 and a 25000m2 outdoor drying patio. Girders that support both coverts are Minerva, Orion and Icaria beams, L and T types among others, which allow better space profitability without unnecessary loss of height.
